Learn How to Meditate
Meditation can feel like a chore, and it is commonly the one thing that people know is good for them, however continue to miss out of their daily routine. It can feel like meditation takes too much time and effort. However, when you can start to weave meditation into your daily practice, the benefits of meditation start to become more obvious, until eventually meditation is a ‘must do’ rather than something you dabble at or think about.
The key to enjoying meditation, is connection to higher consciousness. There are different words people use for higher consciousness, such as Source, Spirit or God. The name or the label is irrelevant, your awareness is what matters. Once you start to connect daily with this higher consciousness, you start to connect to a higher frequency. This shifts you into being able to hold a higher frequency during the day, and although we all still face our challenges, we can return to heart centeredness, or high consciousness, more easily and our lives will be in more alignment and flow.
Meditation Breath
Breathing for meditation is really important. The best meditation breath, starts from feeling empty. Then take each breath in through your nose, hold for a moment, and breathe out through your mouth keeping the outbreath longer than the inbreath. Breathe out to empty and then hold the feeling of empty for as long as you can, without going into struggle.
Repeat this sequence as you breath out, saying in your mind or out loud each phrase, one breath at a time:
‘With this breath, I relax my body’
‘With this breath I relax my mind’.
‘With this breath I call in the light’
Meditate to Hold a Higher Frequency
With the third meditation breath, as you call in the light, allow yourself to feel a higher connection. You may feel this straight away, or it might take meditation practice. But as you meditate in this way more and more, you will feel a connection to a higher frequency or consciousness. Allow this higher frequency to open your heart, really feel it, let thought go, and just feel your heart opening. To begin with just do this meditation for 5-10 minutes daily, as you become familiar with the feeling.
The more you meditate and connect with heart consciousness, the more you will be able to hold this frequency during the day. Have the spiritual discipline to bring yourself back to your heart in all situations. Let you mind chatter stop, and allow your heart to be the pulse of your being. It’s about feeling rather than thinking, and if you’re in your heart, the energies you create will be for your highest and best good and for those around you
