Grounding
Grounding is essentially the process of ensuring you are energetically fully connected with the Earth. It is very easy when working with spirituality or spiritual practitioners and therapists, to start focussing on higher or ‘off planet’ energies, looking to connect with the higher realms. However, if you are not grounded, your life will reflect a level of chaos or ‘airiness’ back to you.
Being ungrounded can show up in various ways such as losing things, being disorganised or forgetful, life not aligning how you would like, or giving your power away to other people. Studies have shown that grounding for 15 minutes, by lying on the Earth, changes the physical structure of how blood cells appear in your body, so there are physical benefits as well as mental, spiritual and emotional benefits to being grounded.
How to Ground
There are lots of different grounding visualisations out there, and grounding techniques all have a similar theme. Essentially, a grounding meditation will ask you to visualise roots of light going from your feet or the base of your spine, deep into the Earth, connecting with the core of Mother Earth, and then bringing the light back up into your body.
Walking barefoot on the grass or the earth will improve your grounding, and sitting on the ground, ideally at the base of a tree will also help. Being in nature, on the Earth and with the trees are all hugely beneficial grounding practices.
Grounding Meditation
A really useful grounding technique is to take three deep breaths, and on the third breath, call in the Light and set your intention to connect with the Light. In time and practice you will feel a ‘click’ or a connection with another level or energy. Bring this Light down through your body from your crown, the top of your head, and down through the soles of your feet and into the earth beneath you. Connect with your Earth Star chakra, which is about two feet beneath you in the Earth. Really feel that connection.
Then see a channel or tubes of Light opening connecting your higher chakras above your head, to your Earth Star chakra in the ground. Feeling is more important than imagination with grounding meditation. Know that connection with the Earth is being made, and feel it’s strength.
You can then bring the Earth’s energies up, breathing into each of your chakras in turn. Again, really feel each chakra as it is nourished by the Earth, taking whatever resources it needs. Work though your main seven chakras from base to crown, and then finish breathing the Earth’s energies into your ninth chakra, which is about two feet above your head. You can then imagine connecting with the Earth’s core, see it lighting up as it feels you, and bringing the Earth energy up through your body, moving through each chakra.
Finally, take this energy from your ninth, or causal, chakra, all the way up out into the cosmos, connecting with your Stellar Junction, a chakra far beyond our physical plane. Do this grounding routine daily, and you will feel the benefit.
